DeepRoute.ai, Tsinghua University jointly build energy-saving autonomous vehicle
Beijing (Gasgoo)- Tsinghua University’s School of Vehicle and Mobility recently conducted a research on the energy consumption and perception in self-driving cars, which will help the autonomous driving solution developer DeepRoute.ai perfect its solutions.

The results of the research will help DeepRoute.ai enhance its autonomous vehicle mass production solution, creating autonomous vehicles that are more energy efficient and smarter.
Research from Tsinghua University shows that the traffic environment at urban intersections is complex, and cars driving at intersections will interact with many traffic participants, leading to frequent slowing down, braking, and acceleration actions. Such actions will lead to a waste of resources, traffic congestions, even accidents.
Based on the all-in-one control architecture of vehicle-road-cloud integration, DeepRoute.ai and Tsinghua University aim to jointly improve the perception, decision-making, and planning abilities of autonomous vehicles, so that the self-driving vehicles can navigate through intersections under an optimal speed and path, and quickly sense the vehicles and pedestrians passing by. According to DeepRoute.ai, under the premise of safety and comfort, the optimized autonomous vehicles can cut their driving energy consumption by 6.9% compared with human-driven vehicles.
The cooperation between DeepRoute.ai and Tsinghua University began in February 2021. Autonomous vehicles equipped with the tech company's L4 autonomous driving system is expected to hit the market in 2024.
