SGMW’s 2023 KiWi EV sees intelligent driving system upgraded
Beijing (Gasgoo)- SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), General Motors' joint venture with Chinese partners SAIC Motor and Guangxi Automobile Group, introduced on February 15 the first system upgrade of its 2023 KiWi EV model, which is powered by DJI and ByteDance’s Volcano Engine.

In the latest upgrade, the Lingxi Intelligent Driving System that integrates SGMW and DJI's onboard technologies has been further enhanced, and the intelligent driving functions of the 2023 KiWi EV have been upgraded to include a memory parking function. This function relies on DJI's onboard stereo binocular cameras, combined with automotive-grade domain controllers and homologous algorithms used in unmanned aerial vehicles, and boasts advantages such as rich scenes, minimal interaction, and low usage restrictions. It will bring users a brand-new experience of memory parking with "zero" barriers, helping them solve parking problems in different scenarios.
The updated function allows users to freely choose the starting and ending points in the parking lot to create a route for memory parking. It recognizes parking spaces in both indoor and outdoor parking lots, underground parking garages, as well as vertical/horizontal/inclined parking spots with clear markings.

When parking, the intelligent memory parking function can automatically avoid pedestrians, vehicles, and oncoming traffic. Moreover, users don't need to park in the spot for the vehicle to learn the designated route. At the same time, the restrictions for generating a new route are minimal, the vehicles can briefly drive in reverse while memory parking.
On the other hand, SGMW and Volcano Engine jointly developed a “Scenario Rubik’s Cube”, which based on the latter’s AI algorithm, the vehicle can detect users’ needs and intentions, therefore recommend corresponding functions to users.
The system uses an industry-leading intelligent driving recommendation algorithm that can link up with the navigation system and stereo vision recognition system to proactively recommend the use of driving assistance when the road is clear. At the same time, it can automatically recognize the intention to park and available parking spaces, and recommend the use of parking functions. In frequently used scenarios such as getting in the car, going home, and going to the office, it can automatically trigger a greeting and recommend corresponding navigation routes to home or the office to users.
