Chuhang Technology to provide Windrose with 4D mmWave radar

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Chinese radar developer Chuhang Technology announced on March 21 that it has secured a mass production contract with Windrose, a local new energy heavy-duty truck startup, to provide 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar for Windrose's first fully self-developed electric intelligent heavy-duty truck.

The radar will be installed onto the premium spec trim of the truck, which is set to be mass produced, delivered, and put into application in 2024.

Prior to this, Chuhang Technology's new generation angle radar also received a nomitated contract from Windrose Technology. The new project further deepens the cooperation between the two parties.

Chuhang Technology’s 4D imaging millimeter-wave radar adopts a two-level cascade (6 transmission and 8 reception) scheme, based on the traditional 3D millimeter-wave radar process design and hardware structure, with the addition of an RF chip. This enables the radar to output 1,024 4D point clouds and track 64 targets, with a detection range of up to 300 meters and an angular resolution of 1.5° (horizontal) * 3° (pitch). Compared to traditional millimeter-wave radar, the perception effect is significantly improved.

For example, in this project, Chuhang Technology's 4D radar product can not only help the intelligent heavy-duty truck to achieve ADAS functions such as ACC and AEB, but also integrate with cameras to achieve higher-level autonomous driving functions such as high-speed navigation, high-speed assistance, and automatic lane changing.
