Huawei, Neolix, China Mobile partner on autonomous driving technology advancement

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On May 26, Chinese self-driving vehicle developer Neolix, the Beijing branch of China Mobile ("Beijing Mobile"), and Chinese ICT giant Huawei jointly unveiled a major innovation in autonomous driving technology—the "cloud-edge-end" fully automated data closed-loop system.

The three parties will engage in deep collaboration in innovative areas such as 5.5G network and V2X to achieve breakthroughs in technology innovation and create competitive industry solutions, thereby contributing to the high-quality development of Beijing's digital economy.

During the conference, Neolix, Beijing Mobile, and Huawei signed a strategic cooperation agreement, revealing their joint collaboration blueprint for autonomous driving technology based on 5.5G and Ascend AI. 

Beijing Mobile, in collaboration with Huawei, is upgrading the 5G network in Beijing’s Yizhuang area to a 5.5G network, deploying a dual-frequency network of 2.6GHz + 4.9GHz to support a maximum uplink of 1Gbps, wide-area stable 20ms latency, and enable high-definition secure monitoring video transmission, AI training data feedback, key visual and radar perception frames with low latency and high reliability for remote troubleshooting and traffic light recognition, thereby boosting Neolix's AI data closed-loop efficiency level from weekly to daily. This improvement will enhance the operating speed of self-driving vehicles while ensuring safe operations.

In the future, Neolix, Beijing Mobile, and Huawei will continue to explore vehicle-road collaboration solutions based on the 5.5G comprehensive perception base station. By utilizing the radar perception capability of the 5.5G base station and combining it with the visual perception capability of cameras, the trio aims to expand the perception range of self-driving vehicles from line-of-sight to non-line-of-sight. This will assist Neolix in achieving larger-scale implementation and commercial applications.
