As Chery's dedicated autonomous driving subsidiary, ZDrive.ai develops mass-produced autonomous driving solutions. The company initiated a RoboTaxi project in November 2022 to achieve Level 4 autonomous driving technology on urban public roads. The project has entered the stage of software and hardware system validation.
Based on the EXEED LX SUV, the project utilizes ZDrive.ai’s self-developed full-stack algorithm from perception to control and a proprietary platform operating system software. The project has undergone multiple public road tests, demonstrating a capability of unmanned control in complex scenarios for up to 5 kilometers.
The issuance of the Wuhu ICV public road test license provides ZDrive.ai's RoboTaxi project with convenient testing conditions in Chery's headquarters, facilitating the exploration of Level 4 autonomous driving technology for commercialization in Wuhu and future expansion to other cities nationwide.
On the other hand, Chery Commercial Vehicle has been actively conducting research and testing in the field of unmanned driving for commercial vehicles, achieving positive progress in perception systems and AI visual recognition. The acquired license will help Chery Commercial Vehicle in the commercial applications for unmanned products.
