WeRide deploys Robobus service in Zhuhai's Hengqin Cooperation Zone

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On July 7, WeRide, the leading Chinese autonomous driving solution developer, inaugurated its autonomous driving demonstration bus route in the Hengqin Cooperation Zone of Zhuhai city, Guangdong Province.

The bus route, operating between Hengqin Port and Chimelong, is another autonomous driving tourist route in Hengqin. The route covers multiple scenic spots and commercial areas, offering citizens and tourists a novel, intelligent, convenient, and efficient mobility solution. 

The new route spans 7.2 kilometers and is estimated to take approximately 30 minutes for a one-way trip. Operating hours are from 9:00 AM to 12:00 AM and from 2:00 PM to 6:00 PM daily, with additional services during holidays. The detailed schedule will be adjusted according to actual circumstances. Citizens can enjoy a free ride experience by searching for the "Qin Zhi Xing" mini-program on WeChat.

During the approximately 30-minute test ride, WeRide's Robobus impressively demonstrated its capabilities, including dynamic path planning, lane-keeping, autonomous lane changing, overtaking, intersection navigation, precise docking, and dynamic obstacle avoidance. From starting, straight driving, turning, U-turns, to braking, the Robobus consistently exhibited accurate responses without the need for human intervention.

In March 2023, WeRide deployed nearly 50 Robobuses in Wuxi city, Jiangsu Province, establishing the largest autonomous driving microcirculation public transportation system in China. With the launch in Hengqin, Zhuhai city, WeRide has now expanded its presence to its 19th city globally, showcasing the technical reliability and commercial replicability of its L4 autonomous driving technology.
