Description

Our static parking data provides drivers with information regarding location, price, operation policies, opening hours and any further applicable restrictions in nearly 125,000 locations, across 114 cities in China. Our dynamic data, achieved via our patented prediction technology, provides drivers with real-time availability of parking spaces and charge points, at the driver’s estimated time of arrival at nearly 58,300 parking locations across more than 78 cities.  Parkopedia also provides two methods of integrated parking payment services, available at 7,315 off-street locations. Our ‘Access and Pay’ service can be subscribed to via the automaker’s connected services, or activated by the driver via their vehicle’s infotainment screen. Access and Pay only requires drivers to ‘opt in’ and provide payment details once, and can also be connected to AliPay or WeChat Pay accounts to enable seamless in-car parking payments. Parkopedia’s dynamic QR code parking payment service aggregates QR codes from our partners and data collection teams into a single API. Deeply integrated into the vehicle head unit, a QR code is displayed on the vehicle's infotainment system screen, which drivers are able to scan with a smartphone to complete payments instantly, saving them time compared with searching for a parking meter and having to exit their vehicles.

Unique advantages

Parkopedia has unique advantages in parking data and transaction services. Our static data provides accurate and complete information on parking facilities and enables contextual parking recommendations and improves smart parking user experiences via voice assistance technology. Our dynamic data provides real-time visibility of parking operators’ assets, key data for yield and traffic management and is also essential for efficient driver routing services to end destinations.  Our parking payment services aggregate parking payment and reservation partners and expose global inventory through a single API, which enables cars and mobile devices to initiate and execute parking transactions at scale. We now support drivers to pay parking fees via either Access & Pay or in-car QR codes, and can connect to AliPay or WeChat Pay accounts.

Application

Global OEM application - Parkopedia has a close and long-standing relationship with nearly all global OEMs including Volkswagen, BMW, Audi, JLR, Peugeot, GM, Ford, Toyota, and Honda. In the highly competitive China auto market, Parkopedia has been providing parking data services for the entire Audimodel range since 2017, enabling Audi owners to experience the convenience of nationwide parking data ahead of others and playing an important role in enhancing their driving experience.   By the first quarter of 2022, the number of Audi vehicles in China with Parkopedia's parking data service had reached approximately 2 million units. Following the excellent performance and feedback on Parkopedia's service from Volkswagen, all brands under the group are now also equipped with Parkopedia’s parking data services (Audi, Porsche, Lamborghini, Bentley and more).   Domestic OEM application - In 2022, Parkopedia partnered with leading automotive electronics provider Desay SV, to provide a suite of parking services, including parking data and in-vehicle QR code parking payments to SAIC-GM-Wuling Automobile (SGMW), for use in the automaker’s most popular electric vehicles.  In 2021, Parkopedia together with Desay SV developed a parking map Proof of Concept, and premiered this during the 2021 Shanghai Auto Show. This year, SGMW launched its latest electric vehicle models, the E230 and E330, which are the automaker’s first to be equipped with Parkopedia’s in-vehicle QR code payment solution. The E330 is the first SGMW model equipped with both off-street and on-street parking data services from Parkopedia.   Last year, Parkopedia also announced our partnership with ETCP, one of the largest parking payment providers in China. Our technology, in-car ‘Access and Pay’ and QR code parking payments, now supports more than 3 million ETCP-managed spaces  across almost 5,000 locations in 60 major cities in China.   In 2021, Parkopedia China announced a partnership with MXNavi, allowing us to provide deeply integrated intuitive parking payment solutions to Honda drivers in China. Honda is the first automaker in China to integrate Parkopedia’s parking payment service directly into the vehicle head unit, allowing drivers to find parking nationwide and pay for sessions at more than 6,000 parking facilities. The partnership allows the automaker to provide industry-leading parking and payment solutions as part of its Honda CONNECT 3.0 infotainment system. Starting with the Honda Civic and Accord models, in-car voice assistance will intuitively provide drivers with nearby, available parking recommendations when approaching their destination.  Honda drivers can pay for their parking via in-car express parking services, or through in-vehicle QR codes that are displayed on the infotainment screen. By scanning the code with their smartphone, drivers can seamlessly pay for parking with Alipay or WeChat Pay from within their vehicles. Number plate recognition then enables seamless entry and exit for drivers.   Parkopedia is devoted to expanding its partnership portfolio in China, so that more Chinese drivers can experience accurate parking information as part of their connected vehicle services, as well as seamless parking and charging payments without leaving their cars.
