FAW-Volkswagen partners with Alibaba Cloud to drive digital transformation in the auto industry

Beijing (Gasgoo)- On September 26, FAW-Volkswagen and Alibaba Cloud sealed a strategic partnership to facilitate deep integration of their abundant resources in the field of automotive intelligence.

In the coming future, FAW-Volkswagen and Alibaba Cloud will collaborate extensively across various domains, encompassing smart manufacturing, logistics, marketing, cloud platforms, talent development, artificial intelligence, and mobility services. 

A particular focus will be on the establishment of smart factories and intelligent logistics. Centered around FAW-Volkswagen's advanced automotive manufacturing core processes, the partnership will create a cloud-edge collaborative manufacturing architecture that spans FAW-Volkswagen's five major production bases in Changchun, Chengdu, Foshan, Qingdao, and Tianjin. This initiative will drive the comprehensive digitization of these factories. Alibaba Cloud will further provide FAW-Volkswagen with comprehensive in-factory intelligent logistics solutions.

Moreover, this collaboration aims to harness Alibaba's expansive ecosystem, combining Alibaba Cloud's digital marketing and office capabilities with FAW-Volkswagen's wealth of automotive data. They plan to explore innovative models in marketing and office environments, thus bringing about digital transformation in these sectors.

During the signing ceremony, FAW-Volkswagen and Alibaba Cloud unveiled the first jointly developed lab - the Go Digital Creation Center. This facility will break down technological barriers and establish standards and intellectual property rights in industrial model algorithm development. The center incorporates core modules such as digital testing benches and industrial algorithm engines, with over 100 basic operator components to meet production manufacturing-side business analysis requirements. It introduces an innovative industrial algorithm model canvas that uses drag-and-drop techniques for the process-based creation of analytical and predictive models, covering complete industrial intelligent application scenarios. The Go Digital Creation Center platform has been successfully developed and is now in its operational phase.
