Baidu Apollo, Geely co-launched enhanced CarLife mobile phone-vehicle connectivity platform

Beijing (Gasgoo)- Baidu Apollo, in collaboration with Geely, recently launched the enhanced version of the CarLife smart mobile phone-to-vehicle connectivity platform, which was inaugurally deployed onto the Geely GEOME E Firefly model.

This enhanced version of the Baidu CarLife not only introduces a more diverse mobile phone audio-video ecosystem but also achieves bidirectional control of applications. This bidirectional functionality enables users to control mobile applications projected onto the vehicle screen not just through their phones but also through the vehicle's interface. Furthermore, it allows users to establish a seamless Wi-Fi connection between their phone and the vehicle system, ensuring a more stable and integrated car-phone connectivity experience.

Contrary to seamless connectivity based on underlying OS, the car-phone connectivity solution represented by CarLife offers vehicle manufacturers a more lightweight, rapid, and cost-effective onboard ecosystem solution.

In addition, Baidu Apollo also introduced the next-generation product, CarLife Fusion, through extensive collaboration with major mobile phone manufacturers. CarLife Fusion further expands the boundaries of voice interaction in the vehicle system while supporting customized interfaces on the vehicle end. Currently, it is in the initial stages of production deployment across select vehicle models.

Since Baidu introduced CarLife in 2014, it has formed partnerships with over 70 global automotive brands, deploying CarLife in more than 1,000 car models, which totaled over 23 million vehicles.
