DiDi-backed KargoBot launches autonomous freight operations in Xinjiang

Beijing (Gasgoo)- KargoBot, the autonomous driving truck solution provider backed by DiDi, officially commenced autonomous freight operations in Xinjiang, China.

In a strategic partnership with Xinjiang Guohe Energy under the Xinjiang Business and Trade Logistics Group, both entities aim to leverage their strengths for collaborative development and market application of highway autonomous freight scenarios. This collaboration seeks to expedite the widespread adoption of efficient and secure Level 4 autonomous freight marshalling technology in Xinjiang.

As a crucial hub for comprehensive energy resources in China, Xinjiang possesses vast coal and resource-rich areas, making it a key demand center for long-haul transportation. With multiple highways carrying annual volumes in the tens of millions of tonnes, the application prospects for Level 4 autonomous driving technology in Xinjiang are immense.

To address the unique challenges of Xinjiang's main transport routes, characterized by high altitudes, significant temperature variations, unstable signals, and complex terrains, the KargoBot team conducted in-depth research. They innovatively developed a hybrid intelligent marshalling solution designed to enhance the efficiency and safety of coal transportation. Currently, KargoBot has normalized operations on multiple routes in Xinjiang, accumulating tens of thousands of kilometers in operational experience.

Since 2021, KargoBot has been actively advancing Level 4 autonomous driving technology for long-haul freight and commercializing operations for bulk commodities. With routine testing and operations in regions such as North China and Northwest China, KargoBot provides end-to-end intelligent transportation solutions for complex scenarios, including short, medium, and long distances. Presently, KargoBot transports over 2.5 million tonnes of goods annually, with a total operational distance exceeding 4.4 million kilometers.
