The testing area covers six administrative districts—Baiyun, Huadu, Panyu, Huangpu, Nansha, and Haizhu—along with the entire Nansha region, encompassing a total of 797 test roads and 3,247 kilometers of two-way distance. This is the first license in China for Level 4 driverless cargo vehicle remote testing in an urban open-road scenario and the first to support 24/7 autonomous cargo vehicle testing, providing robust support for WeRide's advancement towards commercializing same-city autonomous cargo transportation.
WeRide’s Robovan is China's first Level 4 autonomous cargo vehicle, developed on the JMC BEV light bus model and equipped with WeRide's comprehensive software and hardware solutions. It features 360° blind-spot-free perception, a fully redundant chassis, and intelligent driving systems, enabling all-day, all-scenario operation across urban centers, inner-city villages, and expressways. The Robovan offers efficient, cost-effective, and digitized autonomous cargo transportation solutions.
To support large-scale commercial deployment, WeRide has developed a cloud control platform and an app, offering real-time route monitoring, autonomous driving status updates, voice customer service, vehicle location tracking, order status management, delivery progress tracking, and fleet dispatching functionalities.
