This milestone will accelerate the nationwide adoption of autonomous convoy technology and advance intelligent transformation in highway freight transport.
KargoBot focuses on solving challenges in bulk logistics with its innovative hybrid unmanned convoy solution. Since 2020, the company has developed and tested Level 4 autonomous truck convoys led by a single driver. In April 2023, KargoBot's autonomous convoy project was selected as the sole long-haul freight autonomous driving project in China’s Ministry of Transport's second batch of intelligent transportation pilot applications.
At the Auto Shanghai 2023, KargoBot showcased a video about a 1,000-kilometer driverless journey from Inner Mongolia to Tianjin, demonstrating its system's capability in handling complex scenarios, such as navigating icy roads, passing through GPS signal-deprived tunnels, and night driving.
Currently, KargoBot operates regular tests and services across North and Northwest China, providing intelligent transport solutions for various distances. As of May, KargoBot has transported over 32 million tonne-kilometers of bulk commodities using Level 4 autonomous truck technology, with a demonstration operation distance exceeding 6 million kilometers.
