China is formulating innovative development strategy on new energy and intelligent vehicles

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People's Republic of China recently issued the 300th catalogue for motor vehicle manufacturers and products, including 320 NEVs. With the expansion of China's NEV market, more and more Chinese and foreign auto companies focus on the development of NEVs and intelligent technologies. 

National Development and Reform Commission is said to draft an innovative development strategy on new energy and intelligent vehicles, and also formulate the roadmap and timetable. The new strategy is expected to lead the way for the development of Chinese auto industry in the future, and helps China to win in a new world industrial revolution. 

The NEVs became the spotlight at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. A large number of multinational auto companies like Daimler and Volkswagen have showcased their NEV products and also announced relevant plans. They are bullish on the Chinese NEV market. 

Apart from multinational car companies, China's self-owned auto brands also start to improve NEV products and technologies. Chery Automobile launched its second-generation EV pure electrical powertrain. Great Wall Motor showcased a variety of products like plug-in and hybrid vehicles, as well as pure electric vehicles. BAIC Group showed its self-developed intelligent, electric and lightweight auto parts at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. 

China has become the largest manufacturing and sales market for NEV industry. In 2016, the output and sales of NEVs reached more than 500,000 units, and the total car parc was up to more than 1 million units, accounting for 50% of the world's total volume. The sales of NEVs have increased by 30% year on year during the first eight months of this year. 

Experts said that the multinational car companies now started to enter the NEV market in a large scale. With their superior technologies, they can quickly launch abundant premium NEV products.
