Geely starts construction of NEV project in Xi’an with investment totaled RMB 20 billion

Shanghai (Gasgoo)-Starting construction almost two months earlier than scheduled and having invested RMB 20.16 billion with an additional amount of RMB 8.46 billion, Geely Auto held a mobilization meeting to promote the construction of its highly-anticipated NEV industrialization project in Xi'an Economical & Technological Development Zone, Shaanxi Province on Nov. 3.

Located at Jingwei New City, Xi'an Economical & Technological Development Zone, Geely's NEV industrialization project will include the construction of NEVs and parts manufacturing, plants of pressing, welding, coating and assembling and various auxiliary facilities.

Geely reportedly not only will increase investment on the project but also will adjust and optimize the project. Besides, it will also introduce the latest technologies to build an upgraded world-leading platform. It is planned that the project will complete construction and put into production in 2020, and until that time, Xi'an will be one of Geely's most high-tech manufacturing bases.

The project is a landmark for Xi'an to build a million-vehicle key automobile town and 100 billion-level auto industrial group to lead the development of trillion-level manufacturing industry and building Xi'an to be a model city of Made in China 2025. Qian Huwei, Director of Xi'an Economical & Technological Development Zone Administrative Committee said that they will commit to providing services for enterprises to solve all kinds of problems, and facilitate the project to put into production and take effect as early as possible.
