NEV startups post best-ever quarterly deliveries

Beijing (Gasgoo)- NIO, Xpeng, Li Auto and WM Motor all achieved new high in deliveries of the third quarter of this year. Notably, both NIO and Xpeng reported new monthly deliveries in September, known as the selling season for new vehicles in China.

NIO delivered 4,708 vehicles in September, jumping 133.2% year on year. The automaker’s quarterly deliveries were up to 12,206, increasing 154.3% when compared with the same period of last year. In the first nine months of 2020, its cumulative deliveries totalled 26,375, exceeding the annual deliveries of last year.

Last month, the automaker started to deliver the EC6. The combined monthly deliveries of the EC6 and the ES6 reached 3,226 units, with deliveries of the latter surpassing 3,000 units for the first time. A total of 1,482 ES8s were delivered in September.

XPeng posted new record highs in monthly deliveries, quarterly deliveries as well as the P7 deliveries. Last month, the automaker delivered 3,478 Smart EVs, a 31% increase from August and a 145% increase year-over-year. The deliveries consisted of 2,573 P7s and 905 G3s.

In the third quarter of 2020, XPeng delivered a total of 8,578 Smart EVs, including 6,210 P7s and 2,368 G3s, representing an increase of 266% year-over-year. Last month, the deliveries of the P7 amounted to 2,573 units, the best-ever monthly delivery record.

Li Auto delivered 3,504 Li ONEs in September, up 29.3% month on month, the third consecutive monthly growth. The quarterly deliveries of the model set a new high of 8,660, increasing 31.1% compared with the previous quarter. By the end of September, the automaker has delivered a total of 18,160 Li ONEs this year.

WM Motor delivered 2,107 vehicles last month, growing 38.8% from a year ago. In the third quarter of this year, the automaker’s deliveries achieved a new record with a year-on-year growth of 79.3% to 6,200 vehicles. The cumulative deliveries of the EX5, the first smart BEV model from the automaker, were up to 36,000 by the end of September ever since its delivery started in September of 2018.
