Car and City: Wuling Hongguang MINIEV’s July registrations up 22.7% YoY
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In July 2022, the registrations of the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, a mini all-electric car model of SAIC-GM-Wuling (SGMW), stood at 37,062 units, jumping 22.7% year on year, while sliding 10.7% month on month, according to the data compiled by Gasgoo Auto Research Institute (GARI).
Regarding the July 2022 registration volume, the Hongguang MINIEV regained the champion crown among China-made new energy passenger vehicle ("NEPV") models, after being outperformed by Tesla's Model Y in June.
For the first seven months of 2022, there were a total of 233,457 Hongguang MINIEVs registered across the Chinese mainland, representing a 24.6% year-on-year growth.
By the end of July 2022, the cumulative registrations of the Hongguang MINIEV added up to 739,528 units.
Regarding regional registrations, Shangqiu and Wuhan were the only two cities in China with over 900 Hongguang MINIEVs registered last month. Liuzhou, which ranked highest for four months out of the first seven months of this year, dropped to the No.4 place in July.
For the first seven months of this year, Liuzhou still topped other cities with 5,838 Hongguang MINIEVs registered. Among the top 10 cities by year-to-date registrations of the model, there were six provincial capital cities, namely Wuhan (2nd), Chengdu (3rd), Nanning (4th), Zhengzhou (6th), Shijiazhuang (8th), and Hangzhou (10th).
