Buick unveils images of second Ultium platform-based BEV model ELECTRA E4

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- SAIC-General Motors' Buick brand announced on Monday the unveiling of the Buick ELECTRA E4, its second all-electric vehicle built on the Ultium platform. This mid-to-large size sports sedan SUV is set to officially hit the market in June.

Upon initial viewing, the ELECTRA E4 seamlessly carries forward the design style of the ELECTRA-X concept car. The front end features a closed grill and LED headlights, flanked by tusks-like chrome strips, giving the vehicle a pronounced sporty feel. The side profile presents smooth lines, embracing a sloping back style and small ducktail design that further emphasizes a sense of fashion. A through-style taillight, along with vertical decorative strips, lends increased visual tension.

The vehicle measures 4,818mm long, 1,912mm wide, 1,581mm tall, with a wheelbase of 2,954mm, categorizing it within the mid-to-large size SUV range.

As for the interior, a standout feature of the Buick ELECTRA E4 is its EYEMAX 30-inch curved 6K screen, powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 chip. The vehicle also comes equipped with Buick's eConnect technology, supporting mainstream online audio/video services, customizable voice skills, wireless CarPlay, and wireless phone charging. The center console showcases sleek, flowing lines, with a blue-purple color scheme that evokes a futuristic aesthetic. The car further enhances the driving atmosphere with 121-color ambient lighting surrounding the cabin.

In terms of space, the ELECTRA E4 offers a seating frame specially developed for electric cars, complemented with floating headrests. The vehicle boasts ample room, featuring 1,013mm headroom in the front, 975mm in the back, and 1,176mm legroom.

Additionally, the car is equipped with a 1.2-square-meter panoramic sunroof made from low radiation glass, capable of blocking 99.99% of UV rays. The vehicle also offers 28 storage spaces and a rear trunk with partitioned storage design. A removable storage box can be flexibly used to meet the needs of various travel scenarios.

Details regarding the range, performance, and safety features of the Buick ELECTRA E4 are yet to be announced. However, according to the declaration information from China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the vehicle comes in both two-wheel and four-wheel drive versions. The maximum power output is reported to be 150kW for the two-wheel drive, and 143kW/68kW for the front/rear motors of the four-wheel drive, respectively.
