CATL inks two agreements for green energy projects in Shandong province

Beijing (Gasgoo)- CATL, the Chinese battery giant, on September 12, the company signed strategic cooperation agreements with two prominent entities, Shandong Hi-speed Group and Shandong Port Group, marking significant milestones in the pursuit of sustainability.

In the agreement with Shandong Hi-speed Group, CATL's heavy-duty electric commercial vehicle battery swapping brand, Qiji Energy, will leverage its innovative technology and operational expertise. Together with Shandong Hi-speed Group's resource advantage, they will establish a high-speed battery swapping network, focusing on key expressways within Shandong Province, contributing to a low-carbon future in transportation.

On the same day, the strategic cooperation agreement with Shandong Port Group represents a fresh collaborative chapter aimed at fostering mutual growth and synergy. This partnership underscores the two parties’ commitment to promoting smart and green port development, enhancing competitiveness, and exploring new avenues for expansion.

Under the agreement, CATL and Shandong Port Group will engage in profound collaboration in green energy manufacturing, photovoltaic energy storage, electric shipping, and heavy-duty electric commercial vehicle battery swapping. Together, they will drive the construction of intelligent and eco-friendly ports, paving the way for a new era of low-carbon, high-quality development in the province of Shandong.
