Yueda Kia scores 86% YoY surge in Jan. 2024 auto sales

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- In January 2024, Yueda Kia, the joint venture between Kia Corporation and China's Yueda Automobile Group, sold 16,323 vehicles in the domestic and overseas markets, representing a remarkable year-on-year surge of 86%, according to a post on the WeChat account of Yueda Automobile Group.

Simultaneously, the company experienced a staggering 241% year-on-year soar in the production of vehicles, with 13,300 units manufactured during the same period.

As a global strategic model that premiered in China, the Kia EV5 has embarked on large-scale deliveries across various regions nationwide since January.

Built upon the momentum of widespread deliveries of the standard EV5, Yueda Kia introduced the EV5 720 Long-Range edition on February 1. Setting itself apart from the standard model, the EV5 720 Long-Range version boasts an impressive 720km range. It also features enhancements in comfort, convenience, and technology, including a driver's seat with zero-gravity relaxation, a central drawer-style thermal insulation box, UWB digital key, and a rear right-folding table. The interior is complemented by a 27-inch integrated triple-screen display. 

Furthermore, the EV5 Long-Range edition undergoes a comprehensive upgrade in intelligent driving technology, offering advanced features such as Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist II (FCA2), Second-generation Highway Driving Assist (HDA2), Blind-Spot Collision Avoidance (BCA), Rear Cross-Traffic Collision-Avoidance Assist (RCCA), and Safe Exit Assist (SEA).

The interior of the EV5 720 Long-Range version also incorporates nearly ten eco-friendly and health-conscious materials, including benzene-free coatings, bio-based synthetic leather (corn & soy), bio-based polymers, and recycled polymers, ensuring a healthier and more comfortable cabin environment.

While consolidating its position in the domestic market, Yueda Kia continues to expand its overseas export business. In January 2024, the company achieved a remarkable 178% year-on-year spike in export sales, totaling 9,320 units. Among them, 888 units of the newly added export model, the Sonet, have been shipped to countries in Central and South America, including Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and Colombia.
