BYD launches SEAL 5 DM-i model in Thailand
Shanghai (Gasgoo)- On August 8 local time, BYD Thailand held a high-profile event in Bangkok for the market launch of the BYD SEAL 5 DM-i. The model is the fourth to roll off the company's Thai production lines and marks two industry firsts: the first right-hand-drive model built at BYD's local plant, and the first locally produced midsize plug-in hybrid electric sedan for the Thai market.

Built on BYD's DM-i platform, the SEAL 5 DM-i boasts five core advantages—exceptional hybrid performance, extended driving range, fuel efficiency, safety, and peace of mind—aimed at setting a new standard for the mid-sized sedan market, said BYD.
Mr. Ke Yubin, General Manager of BYD Thailand, said production of the SEAL 5 DM-i at BYD's Rayong plant reflects the company's strong confidence in Thailand's manufacturing capabilities. He noted that this milestone reinforces BYD's commitment to advancing new energy vehicle (NEV) technologies locally and establishing a new benchmark for midsize sedans in the country.
BYD said it remains committed to offering Thai consumers greener and more efficient transport options while working with local partners to strengthen the regional supply chain. The company has already sold over 90,000 vehicles in Thailand. With a strategy that tightly integrates local production and sales, BYD aims to drive the growth of the country's NEV sector while generating more than 9,000 local jobs.
