The permit allows AutoX's RoboTaxi to conduct systematic and orderly unmanned road tests in phases within the 225 square kilometers of the core area in the demonstration zone.
After obtaining fully autonomous driving permits and conducting commercial exploration in the Silicon Valley, Shenzhen, and Shanghai, AutoX's unmanned RoboTaxi has now added Beijing to its list of accomplishments.
AutoX's leading autonomous driving technology, in line with the implementation rules set by the BJHAD and corresponding unmanned testing regulations, has undergone rigorous technical assessments. Furthermore, AutoX has proven its capabilities through testing in various regions across China, demonstrating exceptional performance in challenging conditions such as peak hours, nighttime, rain, snow, and dusty environments.
Before receiving the autonomous driving permit in Beijing, AutoX had already amassed significant unmanned testing and commercialization experience in several cities in China and the United States. It has successfully operated autonomous driving services in cities like Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Silicon Valley, with a total operating area exceeding 2,000 square kilometers. Among these, the operation area permitted for fully unmanned service reaches an impressive 300+ square kilometers in size.
In April 2023, AutoX was granted the first batch of L4 autonomous driving RoboTaxi service permits in Shanghai, providing public RoboTaxi services through the Xiangdao Chuxing ride-share app with fees. Subsequently, in May 2023, AutoX received the first batch of permits for its fully unmanned RoboTaxi commercialization pilot program in Shenzhen's Pingshan district. Covering an area of 168 square kilometers, this is currently the largest connected fully unmanned driving operational design domain (ODD) in China.
