General Motors Co (GM.N) will recall 24,021 imported Buick Enclave vehicles due to airbag defects, China's quality watchdog said on Monday, as part of the U.S. automaker's global recall over the same issue involving over nearly 1.2 million vehicles.

General Motors said it sold a record 1.03 million Buick vehicles globally last year, the highest total since 1984, before the brand entered China, which is now its largest market.

General Motors is considering bringing the Opel Adam minicar to the United States, likely wearing a Buick badge, Opel Chairman Karl-Thomas Neumann said today.
