Ford puts new EVOS on display at China International Import Expo

Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Ford Motor demonstrated its latest electrification and intellectualization results through two featured vehicle models and an intelligent city solution simulation diorama at the 2021 China International Import Expo (CIIE).

The Mustang Mach-E, Ford’s first battery-electric SUV and the latest member to the Mustang family, was on display. 

Ford announced that its Ford Select high-end intelligent EV brand has opened up 13 city showrooms in China and will be expanded to 25 by the end of the year. In five years, the automaker aimed to set up over 100 showrooms within the country.

Another highlight of the display was the new intelligent EVOS, also the first model debuted under Ford’s China 2.0 strategy.

The EVOS was led by the Chinese product team, designed to meet the Chinese market demands. The vehicle is loaded with Ford’s new-generation intelligent cockpit, an over 1.1m wide giant screen to match the new Ford SYNC+2.0 operating system, and its virtue AI assistant. The EVOS allows OTA updates for a fresh experience.

Notably, Ford Motor demonstrated its intelligent connected vehicle’s car-road synergy capability, on-road safety, and efficiency improvement results via an intelligent city simulation platform at CIIE. Ford designed and developed the platform to simulate an all-scenario city transportation system and evaluate the mobility concepts.

The platform consists of a complete set of advanced software, helping city planners better understand residents’ needs and test out various innovative mobility solutions through a visualized digital simulation system.  

With the company’s global vision, Ford Motor wishes to help China’s intelligent city reformation cause and accelerate the actualization of the car-road synergy (C-V2X) technologies. By the end of this year. Ford’s C-V2X system will cut into the intelligent transportation networks in nine Chinese cities.
