NIO to start delivering ET9 flagship sedan in Q1 2025

At the NIO Day 2023 held on December 23, Chinese electric vehicle manufacturer NIO officially unveiled its fire new executive flagship sedan model, the NIO ET9.

The NIO ET9 is now available for pre-order, with deliveries scheduled to commence in the first quarter of 2025.

The new model measures 5,325mm long, 2,016mm wide, and 1,620mm tall, with a wheelbase of 3,250mm.

The ET9 continues to feature NIO's iconic watchtower sensor layout, with the LiDAR and forward-facing cameras positioned on the roof. Additionally, it introduces dual side-view wide-angle LiDAR units. The ET9 is NIO's first model to incorporate a 4D millimeter-wave imaging radar.

The ET9 is equipped with NIO's first self-developed intelligent driving chip, the Shenji NX9031. NIO claims this is the industry's first intelligent driving chip manufactured using a 5nm process, boasting over 500 billion transistors. With a powerful CPU computing cluster for concurrent task processing capability and abundant memory bandwidth, this chip achieves fast and stable processing with minimal latency.

The model also features NIO's "All-domain 900-volt High-Voltage Architecture," with a maximum working voltage of 925 volts, peak charging power of 600kW, and peak charging current of 765A.

The NIO ET9 is also equipped with NIO's self-developed "SkyRide Intelligent Chassis System," integrating three core hardware systems: steer-by-wire, rear-wheel steering, and full-active suspension.

Thanks to the "rear-wheel steering" technology, the ET9 achieves a maximum rear-wheel steering angle of 8.3 degrees. During low-speed turns, with the front and rear wheels turning in opposite directions, it can achieve a minimum turning diameter of 10.9 meters.

NIO states that the "SkyRide" system features the world's first integrated hydraulic fully active suspension, combining shock absorbers with active suspension electric drive units in a highly integrated manner. Compared to non-integrated active suspension, it boasts a more compact structure and faster response speed.
