Shanghai (Gasgoo)- Geely Auto announced on March 27 via its WeChat account that it recently achieved the world's first autonomous vehicle drifting using its proprietary Al digital chassis technology, marking a significant breakthrough the automaker has made in the global's intelligent safety and AI-enabled chassis technology fields.

The official footage showcases an unmanned test vehicle autonomously drifting on icy surfaces, demonstrating remarkable control and agility comparable to that of professional drivers.

Autonomous drifting marks a significant breakthrough for Geely's development of Al digital chassis technology, highlighting the company's prowess in integrating various technologies such as AI large model, digital chassis, and intelligent driving.

When introducing its AI digital chassis technology, the automaker said the perception large model algorithm highly integrated software and hardware allows real-time monitoring and prediction of the vehicle's status, akin to the instincts of a seasoned driver. Meanwhile, millisecond-level steer-by-wire control ensures precise manipulation of drift direction. The in-wheel motors boasting sophisticated torque vectoring contribute to optimal real-time power distribution, resulting in enhanced control, comfort, and safety.
