This year, BYD will introduce three models to the local market: the BYD ATTO 3 (named Yuan PLUS in China), BYD SEAL, and BYD SEALION 7 ((named Sealion 07 EV in China). The ATTO 3 will be the first model to go on pre-sale.

At the event, Liu Xueliang, General Manager of BYD Asia-Pacific Auto Sales Division, remarked, "Since 2016, BYD has been deeply rooted in the South Korean market for nearly a decade, bringing electric forklifts, electric buses, and 1-ton electric trucks to the country. These products have become an integral part of daily life for many South Koreans. With the launch of BYD's passenger vehicle brand today, we look forward to collaborating with local partners and consumers to promote low-carbon travel and a green economy, contributing to global sustainable development."

Cho Inchul, Managing Director of Passenger Vehicles at BYD Korea, added, "We will work closely with dealers and partners to continually enhance the brand experience, ensuring that consumers gain a comprehensive understanding of BYD. From product purchasing to after-sales services, we prioritize customer satisfaction and aim to provide the best service for every client. With a forward-looking perspective and unwavering effort, we are committed to building BYD into a brand that customers can trust in all aspects."

Starting from January 16, BYD will collaborate with six officially authorized local dealers to open 15 showrooms and 11 service centers in major South Korean cities, such as Seoul and Jeju Island.

In the commercial vehicle sector, BYD officially delivered its 1,000th electric bus in South Korea on December 26, 2024. As of that date, the total number of BYD electric buses in operation in South Korea has reached 1,056 units, with a cumulative distance of approximately 100 million kilometers, resulting in a reduction of around 120,000 tonnes of CO2 emissions.

In addition, BYD's South Korean subsidiary plans to launch a new electric tour bus model in 2025, expanding its offerings with more new models following the success of the popular eBus series.
