BYD unveils RACCO electric K-Car in Japan
On October 29, BYD debuted its first electric K-Car in Japan, targeting a popular segment in the country.The Chinese new energy vehicle (NEV) giant unveiled the BYD RACCO at the Japan Mobility Show, saying the four-door K-Car is slated for a summer 2026 launch in Japan.
The company also announced an expanded "pure EV + hybrid" strategy for the Japanese market, marking a major milestone in its global electrification push.Alongside the K-EV, BYD presented the Sea Lion 06 DM-i hybrid, upgraded versions of the Yuan PLUS, Dolphin, and Seal models, as well as the ultra-luxury YangWang U9 electric supercar.
Beijing Hyundai puts the EO compact all-electric SUV onto the market
On October 29, Beijing Hyundai launched its first pure EV platform SUV, the EO, priced between 119,800 yuan and 149,800 yuan, marking the brand’s official entry into the new energy era. Positioned as a "new-quality pure electric SUV,” it follows the development concept of "Global Quality + Chinese Technology,” combining Hyundai's global standards with localized optimizations for Chinese consumers.
To enhance its appeal, Beijing Hyundai is offering incentives such as a free home charging pile, zero down payment purchase, 4,000 yuan trade-in subsidy, and unlimited in-car data. The EO emphasizes six quality dimensions—safety, driving experience, technology, durability, intelligence, and lifestyle empowerment—aiming to redefine the 150,000-yuan EV segment with higher quality and value.
DEEPAL S07 hits 300,000-unit production milestone
On October 29, DEEPAL, a NEV brand under Changan Automobile, officially announced that the 300,000th unit of its S07 model has rolled off the production line.The new DEEPAL S07, launched on September 19, is available in five variants offering both REEV (range-extended electric vehicle) and pure electric powertrains, with official prices ranging from 153,900 yuan to 170,900 yuan.
The new S07 comes standard across all trims with Huawei's Qiankun ADS SE driver assistance system. The range-extended version features a 1.5L generator and motors rated at 190 kW or 200 kW, offering 230 km or 300 km CLTC-rated battery-powered range and up to 1,385 km of combined range. The all-electric variant delivers 200 kW output and 550 km CLTC range. Fast-charging enables 30%–80% SOC in 15 minutes.
