Shanghai, April 29 (Gasgoo.com) Anhui Jianghuai Automobile Co., Ltd. (JAC) is set to sell its vehicles in the Taiwan market by cooperating with a local partner, SinoCast reported recently, citing people familiar with the matter.

Under the cooperation agreement, Taiwan's Shengrong Auto, a subsidiary of Prince Motors, will import and assemble auto parts from Jianghuai Auto, and then sell the locally-assembled JAC-branded vehicles in the Taiwan market.

This deal will make Taiwan the Hefei-based automaker's first assembling base outside of mainland China. And Jianghuai will be the fourth mainland Chinese automakers after JinLong (Golden Dragon) Bus, Geely Auto and Chery Auto to enter the Taiwan auto market.

The partnership, likely to start at the end of 2010 at the earliest, will first cover JAC-branded small- and medium-sized commercial vehicles and then expand to sedans.

Jianghuai Auto entered into a cooperation agreement with Taiwan's Prince Motors at the beginning of this year, and announced the partnership in late April at the Beijing auto show.
