Gasgoo Munich- On February 26, SAIC-GM-Wuling officially unveiled the fifth-generation Wuling Hongguang MINIEV, giving its best-selling micro EV a comprehensive update. While retaining the model's core philosophy of being stylish, easy to drive, easy to park, and economical to own, the new version introduces a four-door layout and a thoroughly refreshed exterior design.

Since its market debut in 2020, the Hongguang MINIEV has played a defining role in shaping China's entry-level electric mobility segment. With cumulative users exceeding 1.9 million, the model has become one of the most influential symbols of affordable urban EV adoption in the country.

In terms of packaging, the fifth-generation model adopts a four-door, four-seat configuration aimed at everyday practicality. Measuring 3,268 mm in length, 1,520 mm in width, and 1,575 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 2,190 mm, the car grows modestly in size. The addition of rear doors significantly improves accessibility for back-seat passengers, enhancing its suitability for daily family use.

Visually, the new MINIEV continues Wuling's signature playful aesthetic. The exterior adopts what the brand describes as a "sweet cube" design language, combining boxy proportions with rounded lighting elements to create a look that feels both modern and endearing.

Detail refinements underline its electric identity. The circular headlights are now linked by a light strip, while the front-mounted charging port is neatly integrated into the fascia. Along the sides, newly designed clover-shaped wheels add a distinctive visual signature that sets the model apart from earlier generations.

Color customization also plays a larger role this time. Three new retro-inspired shades—green, white, and gray—are paired with a contrasting black roof, giving the small EV a more fashionable, two-tone appearance aimed squarely at younger buyers.

Beyond the car itself, Wuling is also leaning into lifestyle branding. The fifth-generation MINIEV launches a crossover collaboration with the popular designer-toy IP "Q宝", blending blind-box collectibles with everyday mobility. The move reflects a broader effort to position the Hongguang MINIEV not just as transportation, but as a personalized, playful extension of urban life for young consumers.
