This plan is included in the agreement on the automobile future of the Volkswagen Group in China signed by Volkswagen Group China, and SAIC Motor Corporation Ltd..
Besides, in about four years, a new electric vehicle model based on Lavida, Volkswagen’s bestseller in China,, is due to roll off the production line at the Anting plant. This will be the first pure electric vehicle produced at the plant. Also in about four years, more than 15 different electric vehicles models of alternative fuel cars including plug-in hybrids and pure electric vehicles will be produced in China.
