Rising oil price has impact on car consumers

Shanghai, September 28 (Gasgoo.com) The rising oil price drives some Chinese consumers to adjust their car purchasing plans and some just play a waiting game, China Youth reported today, according to Nielsen's latest Survey.

The Nielsen Company conducted a survey of consumers intending in Shanghai, Beijing, Guangzhou and some other Chinese cities. 70% of the surveyed consumers haven’t got a car, while one third of this group plan to.

However, due to the surging oil price, consumers have started to reconsider their car buying plan, with 25% delaying the purchase, and 22% giving up. Of the consumers sticking to their vehicle buying plan, 18% target fuel-efficient cars considering high oil price, while still one fourth say they don't care about the oil price.
