China-made Audi Sept sales top 10,000 units

Shanghai, October 13 (Gasgoo.com) In September, sales of Audi cars made by FAW-VW grew by 22.6% year on year to 10,919 units, which is the fourth month this year after January, March and June that saw the joint venture's Audi sales exceeding 10,000 units, said China Business news today. Meanwhile, sales of imported Audi cars rose by 76.4% y/y to 9,899 units in the first nine months.

Latest data show that last month the Chinese-made Audi A6L sold 8,289 units, up 33.1% y/y, bringing the Jan-Sept sales to 63,648 units; in the first nine months, sales of Audi A4 hit 16,168 units, up 10.9% y/y. At the same time, the imported Audi models posted stronger sales growth, with 9,899 units of Audi A8L, Q7, TT, A5 and R8 models sold in the Jan-Sept period, up 76.4% y/y.

China sales of Audi brand totaled 89,715 vehicles in the first nine months, representing a year-on-year increase of 19.2%.

Globally, the Audi brand sold 95,137 in September, up 12.3% y/y, the best sales performance of the ninth month over the past years. Of the total, 68,125 units were sold in the European market, up 13.2%, and two-digit growth is also recorded in both the Asia Pacific and North American markets.
