Shanghai, October 22 (Gasgoo.com) Shanghai GM recently announced that it will introduce the Saab Turbo X limited edition to Chinese customers, said Jiefang Daily today. The car is expected to sell in China for 639,000 yuan ($93,600), a price that is acceptable to Chinese fans of this highly-admired premium model.

Interested buyers will have to move quickly as the Turbo X, which is the first vehicle to offer the state-of-the-art XWD all-wheel-drive system, will only be available in a very limited number of 10 units in the China market. The car is a masterpiece of the Saab turbocharger technology as well as a perfect mix of its legendary history and Scandinavian style.

Inspired from the first black 900 Turbo, the all-wheel drive Turbo X is equipped with 2.8L V6 Turbo engine which produces 280 hp, up from 255, and 295 ft-lbs. of torque. It will be good for a 5.7 second sprint to 62 mph, which makes it one of the fastest Saabs we've ever heard of. In addition to tuning of the suspension and its electronic chassis, throttle and power-train settings, the Turbo X also features distinctive styling additions.

Only 2,000 units of the Turbo X model will be produced worldwide, though they will be available as both a sedan and Sport Combi wagon. The first customer deliveries of the Turbo X in China are expected later this year or early 2009. The limited availability of the Saab Turbo X will highlight and boost the rarity value of this model in China's auto market.
