Guangzhou Honda to recall some City sedans

Shanghai, October 22 (Gasgoo.com) Guangzhou Honda Automobile announced it was recalling 134 City sedans from October 21, 2008 because of problems with rear brake shoes, xinhuanet.com said yesterday, citing the notice issued by China’s General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection and Quarantine (AQSIQ) on October 20.

The recall covers 132 City sedans produced by Guangzhou Honda in September, 2008 and two possibly serviced City sedans manufactured on April 24, 2006 and January 9, 2005 respectively, the company said.

When in use, the faulty brake shoes may flake off and be sandwiched between the rear brake drum and shoes, causing rear brakes to drag.

Guangzhou Honda said it will check and replace the defect brake shoes of the recalled cars for free.
