Visteon Climate Control (Nanchang) marks plant expansion

NANCHANG, Oct. 28, 2008 – Visteon Climate Control (Nanchang) Co., Ltd (VCCN), a joint venture between global auto parts supplier Visteon (NYSE: VC) and Jiangling Motors Company Ltd. (JMC), is expanding its Nanchang plant to accommodate the growing needs of locally based vehicle manufacturers. In addition, the plant unveiled its new name, Visteon Climate Control (Nanchang). The plant plays an important role in Visteon’s global manufacturing footprint and full climate control components and systems offering in China.

"The partnership between Visteon and JMC has proved to be a strategic and successful one,” said Wang Xigao, JMC chairman. “The plant expansion demonstrates its success in manufacturing high-quality products for its customers. Visteon’s technical capability and support on global vehicle programs has significantly contributed to this success.”

VCCN specializes in manufacturing climate control systems components such as automotive fluid transport and air conditioning assemblies. The new facility will increase the plant’s surface to 7,558 square meters from the previous 5,000 square meters to better service customers such as JMC, Chang’An Ford, Geely, Dongfeng Nissan and Beijing Benz Daimler Chrysler (BBDC).

"VCCN is important part of Visteon’s footprint in China,” said Joy Greenway, vice president of Visteon Corporation, and president climate product group. “The components manufactured at this plant enable us to offer the full range of climate control components in China.”

The plant expansion allows VCCN to double its yearly production capacity, an indication of China's growing importance in Visteon's global and Asia Pacific strategy. It also leverages the strengths of both partners to bring new technologies and new opportunities to the China market.

A plaque unveiling took place to mark the facility’s name change from Jiangxi Fuchang Climate Systems Co. Ltd. to Visteon Climate Control (Nanchang). The change reflects a more consistent branding approach from majority owner Visteon.

In recognition of its highly efficient, environmental-friendly and high quality service, VCCN received in the last few years JMC’s ‘Quality Improvement’ award, and Chang’An Ford’s top supplier quality certification.
