Shanghai, December 11 (Gasgoo.com) Hainan-based FAW Haima Automobile Co. Ltd said it plans to sell 300,000 complete vehicles by 2010, and half of that number will be A-class cars, the Jinghua newspaper reported today.

Mr. Wu Gang, general manager of Haima Auto Sales Co, told reporters that Haima has a competitive advantage for making A-segment cars.

He said the Haima 3 as well as the new-to-the-market Huandong will each account for 75,000 units of 2010 sales target of A-class cars.

Haima formally named its all-new hatchback Haima H11 as Huandong ("happy move") at last month's Guangzhou auto show, and the hatchback has gone on sale early in December 5.

The car uses the re-tuned HA-VIS-1.8 II engine, which can generate more sufficient power. The manual edition can save fuel by 10% and the CVT-equipped versions can save gasoline by 15%.

Wu said he expects 30 percent of Huandong customers to be female.

He also confirmed that its parent company Haima Investment Group Co has raised investment for the ongoing construction of its Zhengzhou plant, which is reported to be affected by global financial crisis.
