Infiniti to open ten more 4S stores in China

Cooling car market could not stop the expanding step of Infiniti, a luxury brand of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., one of the top three carmakers in Japan. 

Yasuaki Hashimoto, president of Nissan Motor (China) Ltd., announced days ago that Infiniti would create ten new 4S stores in China in 2009, sharply raising the total number to 23 around the country.

Infiniti is a new comer in China, which is one of the most profitable overseas markets of Nissan Motor. The first distributors of this luxury brand started business in July 2007 and by the end of 2008, Infiniti got 13 distributors around China.

Infiniti sale reached 1,550 cars in 2007 and the figure is estimated to hit 4,000 in 2008, a surge over 150% year on year. However, its rivals like Toyota's Lexus, Audi, Benz, and BMW have a far more sales.

For instance, Lexus was sold more than 20,000 cars in China last year and may exceed 30,000 in 2008.
