Chrysler to bring three new models to China in '09
Shanghai, December 30 (Gasgoo.com) Chrysler LLC will close its global manufacturing plants for one month from Dec.19 in response to the financial crisis, Chrysler said in an announcement released today.
The No.3 US automaker emphasized that its Chinese business would not be affected and will introduce three news models to China next year, said Beijing Cankao News today.
Chrysler will adjust its manufacturing plan to make its production and inventory better meet American market demands, the announcement said. But no impact will be felt in Chinese business, said the automaker.
An insider close to Chrysler China said the company had made clear its new models introduction plans and would carry out the plans soon. In 2009, Chrysler will introduce to China three new models -- Dodge Journey, Jeep Rubi-con and code-named "MK" model, a revamped model of Jeep Compass next year, he said.
Chrysler will never drop out of the Chinese market since China is seen as the most important Asian market for the automaker, the insider said.
