Shanghai, June 11 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese chemicals maker Lumena Resources Corp said on Wednesday its chairman may participate in Sichuan Tengzhong Heavy Industrial Machinery's bid for General Motors' Hummer brand, reports Reuters.

The company said in a statement its chairman Suolang Duoji, who is also known by the Chinese name Li Yan, may have an interest in Tengzhong's proposed purchase of Hummer, but his participation would be unrelated to the company's business.

It added that Suolang no longer owns any legal or beneficial interest in Tengzhong, although until May 2005 he held stakes in a company that at the time had an equity interest in Tengzhong.

Lumena is China's largest Glauber's salt producer and the world's second largest producer of thenardite. The company reports 1.9 billion yuan ($278.6 million) in assets and net profit of 442.1 million yuan ($65 million) in 2008.
