Top 19 auto groups posts $2.94 bn profit in Jan-Apr

Shanghai, June 12 (Gasgoo.com) China's top 19 auto groups reported a combined profit of 20.06 billion yuan ($2.94 billion) in the first four months, down 27.99 percent from a year earlier, according to data provided by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology.

But the decline is moderate compared with 48.36 percent drop in the same period one year earlier, thanks to supportive government policies that help boost car sales.
