Ford China JV and FAW recalling 13,097 sedans

Shanghai, July 14 (Gasgoo.com) China's product-safety regulator said Monday Ford Motor Co.'s passenger vehicle-making joint venture as well as FAW Car Co is recalling a total of 13,097 sedans due to potential problems with sunroof that might cause it to fall, official Xinhua News Agency reported.

The recall will include 11,521 Mondeo Zhisheng and Focus vehicles made by Changan Ford Mazda, a three-way tie-up between Ford, Chongqing Changan and Mazda Motor Corp between February 16, 2009 and April 7, 2009, the General Administration of Quality Supervision, Inspection Quarantine said.

In addition, 394 Mazda3 cars build by Changan Ford Mazda during March 16, 2009 and May 13, 2009, and 1,182 Besturn sedans built by FAW Car Co between March 5, 2009 and March 30, 2009, will also be recalled

The recall by Changan Ford Mazda was issued soon after it announced on Monday to recall 7,563 Fiesta-branded cars made between Oct. 22 and May 14 because of a defect in the tires.
