Chairman Li Shufu raises stake in Geely to 51.54%

Li Shufu, chairman of Geely Automobile Holidngs, recently raised his shareholding in Geely to 51.54% from the previous 50.19%, according to the bourse operator Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing.

Information from HKEx showed that Li bought 98 million shares of Geely on Jul. 24 for US$129.36 million. The average share price of the transaction was US$1.32 per share.

This is the third time this month that Li has raised his stake in Geely.

Shares of Geely, a major privately owned auto maker in China, edged up 0.51% to end at HK$1.98 on Tuesday.
