Tianjin FAW Xiali's vehicle sales up 43.3% in July

Tianjin FAW Xiali Automobile Co Ltd, a leading Chinese auto maker, Wednesday said its vehicle sales jumped 43.3% from a year earlier to 14,531 units in July, the official Xinhua News Agency reported.

Vehicle production of the company rose 28.6% year on year to 15,302 units last month, according to its statement filed with the Shenzhen Stock Exchange.

In 2008, the company produced approximately 172,369 automobiles. Its models include the Vizi, the Vita, the Vela and the Xiali.

By the end of last year, Tianjin FAW Xiali had five major subsidiaries and two affiliates involved in the manufacture and sale of automobiles and spare parts as well as logistics.

Fianjin FAW Xiali's parent, First Automobile Works, is one of the Big Five Chinese automobile manufacturers along with Dongfeng Motor Corp, Shanghai Automobile Industry Corp, Chang'an Motors and Chery Automobile Co Ltd.
