Beijing Auto to launch own-brand SUV models in '10

Shanghai, September 14 (Gasgoo.com) Beijing Auto recently said that it will launch its first self-developed "Beijing" brand passenger vehicle model - the 007 SUV - in May 2010, and another SUV model codenamed B40 will also be released next year, xinhuanet.com reported today.

Insiders from Beijing Auto said the Beijing 007 and B40 SUVs are expected to go on sale in May 2010 at the earliest, and their sales promotion may start at the end of this year.

The 007 is a compact SUV, like the Chery Tiggo 3 in size, and will come with the 2.4-liter and 2.0-liter versions.

The B40 is an all-new two-door light SUV from Beijing Auto's self-developed platform. It measures 4,200mm x 1,800mm x 1,750mm, with a 2,400mm wheelbase and 2.4-liter engine.

Although Beijing Auto has unveiled its own-brand sedan concepts on many occasions, the first "Beijing" brand models to be mass-produced will be the SUV, the company's conventionally glorious vehicle model.
