Merce-Benz China Sep sales up 59% to 7,000 cars
Shanghai, October 10 (Gasgoo.com) Daimler AG said this week that its core Mercedes-Benz Cars division sold about 7,000 cars in China last month, up 59% from a year earlier, driven by the revamped S-Class and E-Class models, Dow Jones reported.
Thanks to the new E-Class sedan that nearly doubled sales to 1,700 units, Mercedes-Benz's China sales in September came at around 7,000 cars, up 59% year-on-year. Its January-to-September China sales stood at 46,600 cars, up 44%.
Mercedes-Benz brand September China sales came at 6,800 cars, up 56% on year, and its January-to-September China sales at 45,400, up 41%.
S-Class sales rose 12% in September to 1,600 cars. E-Class sales soared 89% to 1,700 cars. Sales of its SUV models jumped 73% to 1,200 vehicles.
"Mercedes-Benz is the fastest-growing luxury brand in China, both in September and in the three quarters since January," a spokeswoman for Daimler said.
