Shanghai, April 23 (Gasgoo.com) China's first self-developed CVT (Continuously Variable Transmission) recently rolled off the production line in the Chery Automobile Co., Ltd.. Chery has thus become the only Chinese-brand carmaker to have fully mastered four key technologies of the sedan chassis, engine, automatic transmission(AT) and Engine Management System(EMS).

Chery Auto has an initial annual capacity of 50,000 CVTs and the second-phase annual capacity of 150,000 CVTs. The CVT19 that has just rolled off the line is the company's first independently developed CVT that has reached the international advanced level with the maximum input torque of 190N.m and can match the engines with the mainstream displacement of ranging from 1.6L to 2.0L. Chery's new model, equipped with the CVT19, is expected to be put into market later this year.

Additionally, through self-development, Chery Auto has established its own evaluation system for CVTs, with 19 special test standards being set up, which has filled the gap in China's test standards for automatic gearboxes.
