Mitsubishi ASX compact SUV coming to China in August

Shanghai, June 7 (Gasgoo.com) Japanese carmaker Mitsubishi Motors has decided to officially launch its ASX compact SUV to the Chinese market in August this year, Mitsubishi Motor Sales (China) Co. Ltd. told reporters recently.


In order to guarantee Chinese consumers a better driving experience and after-sales service, Mitsubishi Motors will only sell the imported ASX in China, but not consider producing it locally. The vehicle was showcased at April's 2010 Beijing Auto Show.


Reportedly, based on the Concept-cX show car first unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show in 2007, the ASX is already available in Japan and Europe with a range of drivetrains and the choice of two- and all-wheel drive, and in the UK with a 1.8-litre direct-injection turbo diesel and a 1.6-litre petrol engine.

Moreover, the ASX will show up in America later this year as the Outlander Sport with a 2.0-liter gasoline four-cylinder from the Lancer and Outlander-besting 30-or-so miles per gallon.
