Great Wall Motor breaks ground on auto parts plant in Tianjin

Shanghai, July 29 (Gasgoo.com) Chinese automaker Great Wall Motor Co (2333.HK), recently broke ground on a 400 million yuan ($59 million) auto parts plant in its Tianjin production base, media reported today.

The new auto parts plant, with an area of 150,000 square meters, will be able to produce 240,000 sets of car roofs, carpets, front and rear bumpers, instrument panels and inner door panels respectively after being put into operation in June next year. 

In addition to this car interior and exterior project, Great Wall will start soon another project on car chassis and car seat. In the future, the company will have a complete supply chain of auto parts, including the chassis system, transmission, large and small stampings die casting, air-conditioning, and seats in the Tianjin base.

At present, construction of the company's Tianjin base has entered into the final stage. By 2015, the base will have a production capacity of 800,000 units, with the total output value to reach 250 billion yuan.
