Geely fetches 'Top 500' title

The China's Top 500 Machinery Companies Research report or The World's Top 500 Machinery Companies was recently released in the Great Hall of the People, Beijing. According to the project, Geely Group ranked in the 33 position in China. Geely has been among the 50 since the report's first release in 2003 and 500 in the world since 2007.

In March, 2009, Geely obtained the title of world's second largest company on independent auto transmission, the DSI. In April, three new brands of Geely -- Gleagle, Emgrand and Shanghai Englon -- made their debut at the 13th Shanghai International Auto Show with 22 new models, 9 engines and 3 transmissions. In September, Geely formed a strategic partnership with Goldman Sachs. At the end of last year, Geely and Ford both declared they had reached an agreement on all the important terms for an acquisition compact, shocking the whole world. Geely's independent R&D system was granted with the National Science and Technology Progress Award, making Geely the only awarded auto company in 2009. Geely also achieved other glorious titles such as the National Innovative Company, the Most Honourable Company in China, and the Top 500 Companies in China.

The China's Top 500 Machinery Companies is a report that calculates companies' turnovers, profitability, return on assets rate, rate increase, etc., based on prestige index. The event was hosted by the China Machinery Enterprise Management Association and co-undertaken by the Machinery Industry Economic & Management Research Institute and the World Executive Group.
