What do netizens in and out of China say about the deal? We collected opinions from Chinese at Sina Microblog (Weibo) and westerners at Businessweek.com, and put them into the table below.

3,980 messages have been posted on Sina Microblog, and 11 messages on Businessweek.com, most of which are optimistic on Geely's acquisition and fully acknowledge Li Shufu and Geely's contribution to the Chinese auto industry. Some only wrote their opinions on the news and numbers published. Meanwhile, negative opinions have to be there at every emergence of hot topics. Some netizens both in and out of China think Geely can't make Volvo sedans as safe as Ford did.

Background:
Geely Holding Group completed its acquisition of Ford Motor Co.'s Volvo unit August 2 in a $1.5 billion deal that gives the Chinese automaker a global brand and huge management challenges.

The Swedish automaker is China's biggest foreign auto acquisition and an unusually large deal for a private Chinese company.

Industry analysts said 13-year-old Geely, barely known abroad, will face a struggle in integrating the two corporate cultures and turning around Volvo Cars, a perennial money-loser in a country with strong labor unions.
